Marrakech and Beyond brings together this amazing country’s glorious sights and sounds – the beautiful beaches, the rugged Atlas Mountains, and the incredible Agafay Desert. The following is an itinerary of the 5-day version of this see-it-all adventure! If possible, we encourage expanding this tour to more days. We could also remove one of the locations so you can stay longer in one place. It’s your tour, and we want it to be perfect for you!
Known as the “red city”, people imagine Marrakech when they envision Morocco. We will take you on a tour of the medina, Jemaa el fnaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where you will find snake charmers, monkeys, entertainers, and smoking grills enticing you with delectable scents. It is surrounded by labyrinthine alleyways filled with motorcycles, bicycles, donkeys pulling carts, and greetings from every shop. You’ll find vendors selling honey-drenched pastries and assortments of fruit, olives, and nuts. You can sit in one of the coffee shops and watch the beautiful variety of locals and tourists enjoying the amazing atmosphere surrounding you.

We’ll take you to some beautiful places like Jardin Majorelle, the amazing garden created by the French painter, Jacques Majorelle and later restored by the design legend, Yves Saint-Laurent. You will tour the gorgeous Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. You will be taken on a walking tour through the souks and have opportunities to find treasures to bring home as a remembrance of this magical place.
Options to do while there include horse-drawn carriage rides, hot air balloon rides, casino fun, cooking classes, and great restaurants, including entertainment.
Lodging choices in Marrakech range from the very affordable to some of the highest-rated places in the world!

Nestled at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and less than an hour’s drive from Marrakech, the Agafay is a mineral desert that stretches for 12+ miles and includes several luxury tent camps where you will be treated to a complimentary dinner and breakfast, have opportunities to ride camels, horses, or ATV’s.

Many of the camps have pools, and all have nighttime entertainment. You can dance around the fire and enjoy the beautiful starry night above. We will find the perfect camp for you.

After arriving in Marrakech, we will take a lovely 3-hour drive to Essaouira (a Unesco World Heritage Site), known as the ‘Wind City of Africa’. You will pass by argan trees filled with goats, and stop by an Argan oil cooperative run entirely by women, where you can observe how they process argan into the many products it offers (oils, beauty, honey, butter, and medicinals).
The wind attracts kite surfers (we can add lessons if you want) from all over the world between April and November. The expansive beach is a great place to relax and watch the surfers, enjoy a lovely walk, or take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean.
Any time of year is fabulous for enjoying the laid-back vibe in this fortress city (built in the 1500s by the Portuguese), with its white-washed walls, blue-painted shutters, and iconic blue fishing boats.
The town includes art galleries, restaurants, and rooftop bars overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Local fishermen bring in their catch of the day and unload on the pier where you can choose what you like and eat fresh seafood right off the grill.
We will take you on a tour through the spice-scented alleys where you can browse the art galleries, and observe the artisans creating beautiful Thuya wood masterpieces. There will be an opportunity to take a cooking class while there as well.
There are many options for an adventure into the High Atlas Mountains filled with rivers, groves of olives, oranges, lemons, and dazzling snowy peaks. You can trek the many trails (with a guide we will arrange) and perhaps see Ouzoud or Imlil Falls, barbary monkeys, locals traveling on donkeys, and a Berber village.

The Berber natives live in a way that has been almost unchanged for centuries. Your trek can be from an hour to several hours, depending on your energy level. Or we can just take you for a drive.

Marrakech and Beyond tour gives you a great immersion into the diverse experiences, sights, and opportunities in and near Marrakech. We’ll say “B’slama” for this time and hope you come back to take the Northern Tour another time.
Exploring the market alleys of Marrakech is one of the special delights of this tour.
The day could include seeing more places specific to your interests, shopping in the souks, or perhaps getting that hammam or massage.
We will include your final dinner to recap your visit and get one more chance to delight in the fabulous cuisine of Morocco!
Beslama till next time!
