Your Moroccan adventure begins in Casablanca, where you will be picked up at the airport, transported to your lodging, then enjoy a delicious meal.
On your way to Fes you will stop in Rabat, the current Imperial City, and begin your immersion into the culture and history of Morocco. You will stroll along the rampart and see the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower (built in the 12 Century) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kasbah of the Oudaya’s.
Fes is considered the holiest city in the Islamic world after Mecca. It was founded in the 9th century and is one of the world’s oldest and largest medieval cities. You will walk through Fes-El-Bali (also a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the longest indoor pedestrian-only alleyway in the world, filled with artisans, workshops, fragrant spices, jewelry, magic potions, rugs, and other brightly colored fabrics – a feast for the senses!
Meknes and Volubilis are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will feel the adventure here as you travel back in time and experience the culture and history present everywhere you look. We include a private tour of the 100-acre site of the ancient city of Volubilis! This was a Roman capital from the 3rd century BC until the 3rd century AD. During its peak, Volubilis had 20,000 inhabitants. Many of the impressive mosaic floors and structures have been uncovered and restored.
The walled city of Meknes dates back to the 11th century and rose to glory in the 17th century when the sultan, Moulay Ismail, was its powerful leader. It is a previous Imperial City.
Visit the Chouara Tannery, where you will witness the ancient art of leather tanning, providing insight into a centuries-old craft. You will also have an opportunity to shop for beautiful, high-quality leather products.
We also offer a tour of a pottery and mosaic cooperative where you can observe the artists creating a variety of products including tables, fountains, dishes, urns, and wall art.
Option:
A trip through the Sahara Desert is an adventure, where you’ll discover a world of beauty and majesty quite unlike anything else you have ever experienced.
As you are transported from the Sahara Desert to Skoura and Ouarzazate, you will pass through the impressive Todra Gorges (over 1300 feet high) and the beautiful Valley of Roses.
On the way to Marrakech, you will see the ancient Ksar, Ait ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), backdrop to many movies and Game of Thrones. You will tour Atlas Movie Studios (included in tour cost), where many historical and adventure movies have been filmed, then pass over the picturesque High Atlas Mountains on the curviest road in the world!
We will take you on a tour of Jemaa El-Fnaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the pulsating heart of Morocco. You will be immersed in the Kaleidoscope of colors, the scents of exotic spices, and the bustling energy of the marketplace filled with artists, vendors, musicians, snake charmers, monkeys, and fortune tellers. You will also experience the vibrant colors of textiles and pottery and the intoxicating scents of delicious Moroccan cuisine.
