Casablanca is one of the largest and most important cities in Africa. It is considered the economic and financial capital of Morocco.
As you depart the big city, you will travel along the beautiful Atlantic coast, past lush agricultural areas to Rabat (the current Imperial City of Morocco), which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As the day continues, you will head towards Fes, considered the cultural capital and holiest city of Morocco.
Meknes was founded in the 11th century as a military settlement. Surrounded by high walls with large doorways, the city currently blends 17th-century Islamic and European styles. It was Morocco’s Imperial City under the reign of the sultan, Moulay Ismail. Ask your guide to share more information about this powerful Sultan.
Traveling south from Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert, you will have the option of stopping in:
You will spend the night in the enchanting Sahara Desert, a vast expanse of golden dunes, star studded skies, and the timeless allure of nomadic life. Prepare for an immersive journey into one of the world’s most iconic landscapes.
On the way from the desert to Skoura/Ouarzazate you will pass through the Todra Gorges. The impressive canyon walls reach up to 1300 feet high.
Your stay in Skoura/Ouarzazate will include a night of luxury lodging where you will have the opportunity for a hammam and/or massage and a lovely dinner.

On your way to the beautiful fishing village of Essaouira, you will pass the goat-filled argan trees, stop at an Argan Cooperative run entirely by women, and have an opportunity to shop for the many products they create including cosmetics, cooking oil, argan butter, and medicinal products.
Essaouira has a relaxed vibe. Musicians including Prince, Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix, and the Rolling Stones used to hang out here, playing their music on the beach. Kite surfers come from all over the world to enjoy the wind and magic of the surf here. You will see them on your way into town.
